Austro-Hungarian "Kaiserin Elisabeth"

The Kaiserin Elisabeth and the very similar Kaiser Franz Joseph I could be cited as a subtype of the protected cruisers - also referened as "Torpedo Ram Cruiser". Designed by Naval Commander Sternbeck they were built to support the new developed torpedo boats with their armament consisted of 2x240mm and 6x150mm.
