Destroyers
Austro-Hungarian "Improved Tátra" Type

Due to the severe attrition of the continuously operating destroyers, the Fleet Command requested the immediate laying down of eight destroyers of the improved Tátra–type, with the same hull–lines as the Ersatz Triglav replacements on 26 June 1917. Once again the front line asked for 12 cm and 9 cm guns. Danubius submitted an offer on 8 November 1917, double the price of the Ersatz Triglav units, and justified this increase with lack of materials. The Navy succeeded to get the price increase down to 12.5% and ordered four destroyers on 22 December 1917. The expected construction period was 14, 15˝, 17, and 18˝ months respectively. In the final letter placing the order, dated 7 July 1918, construction start was defined as the day when all necessary material (200 t) for the construction of the keels and hull frames would arrive at the shipyard. Till the end of the Monarchy on 3 November 1918, construction never commenced due to steel shortages. Suggested names like Honvéd and Lovcen, sometimes found in marine literature are mere speculation.
Unfortunately no line drawing of the improved Tátra type has survived in the Austrian State Archives.
