French "Dunkerque" Class

The ships of the Dunkerque class (Dunkerque and Strasbourg) were the first super dreadnoughts with their main armament mounted in quad turrets.They had a belt armour of 241 mm surface hardened steel.

Dunkerque had been sunk by British forces at Mers-el-Kebir/Oran in July 1940. After she had been lifted she was transferred to Toulon were she was scuttled again on 27 Oct 1942.
