This class (Guilio Cesare, Conte di Cavour, Leonardo da Vinci) was laid down before WW I and joined the fleet in 1914/1915. During the war they didn't become operative. Late 20s they joined the reserve fleet and were modenized during the 30s.

Guilio Cesare: Launched 15 October 1911 at Cantieri Ansaldo, Genua; none active missions during WW I; renovated 1926; 1928 - 1933 artillery training ship; Stefanie at the Bocche die Cattaro
Conte di Cavour: 1911-08-10: launched at Arsenale di la Spezia 1933-1937: modernized; 
Caio Duilio: Sunk on ground after damages by torpedoes on 11 November 1940; lifted and repaired within 6 months.
