A series of battleships (Neptune, Colossus, Hercules), laid down at the dawn of the centrury. The Colossus and Hecules were laid down in 1910 with minor modifications.

Hercules - 1910-05-10: launched at Palmers Iron & Shipbuilding Co. Ltd, Yarrow; 1911-06-08: commissioned and allocated to the Home Fleet; during WWI member of Admiral Burney's  VI. Battlesip Division (Marlborough, Revenge, Hercules, Agincourt) taking part at the Battle of Jutland; survived the war without damagers; 1920: decommissioned, sold and scrapped
